The Sky Opens Twice, @Cafe Hærverk 17 October 2024
This is the Alpaca ensemble’s tenth record and is a commissioned work by jazz musician and composer Eirik Hegdal, who has invited jazz vocalist Thea Ellingsen Grant to join him on the project. Thea has written the lyrics and the ensemble has brought in Juliane Schütz to produce video material for the entire concert. This is a thoroughly composed performance based on both pre-programmed material, live music and improvisation. Behind the musicians is Schütz’s video, which brings the entire show together into a unique experience.
